On Saturday May 10th the Harney Vol Fire Company hosted the 2025 annual Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association Convention. The day started out with the Past Presidents Breakfast, followed by a memorial service honoring those who have gone before us in 2024. Lunch was served around noon with a rewards ceremony. Recipitants received scholarships, hall of fame awards, and recognitions. After lunch annual meetings were held for CCVESA and the Auxiliary to the CCVESA were usual business and election of new officers were conducted. A social hour was after so members could share a few laughs and stories.

This year Harney's own Past Fire Co President James Waybright was inducted into the hall of fame. Jim spent 30+ years as the company president over seeing the purchase fire apparatus, fundraiser functions, and the expansion of the building and grounds. Jim currently serves of the company as vice president. The Waybright family all serve in the fire company.
