Special Unit 11 and Frederick Ambulance 69 responded to a bicycle crash on Harney Rd at the Mononacy river bridge. Special Unit 11 arrived to find a seriously injured patient. Medic 59 and Trooper 3 were dispatched to assist. Patient was treated and transported to the helipad at Station 11. Engine 111 handled the landing zone. The patient Cat 2 B was flown to Shock Trauma. Take note of the two pictures of the patients bicycle helmet. It sustained serious damage but most likely saved the patient from a severe head trauma.
